Responsibilities:

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, including asking customers to the check-out. NEVER sign off the register with a customer waiting. Always wait until someone comes to relieve you.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy, ensuring items are credited to the correct department and removed from the cart.
3. Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction.
4. Assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries.
5. Keep work station and surrounding area neat and clean.
6. Follow all state and local laws regarding beer and/or wine sales, federal laws for WIC handling, and company procedures for coupon handling, check cashing, and tendering.
7. Properly use assigned tills and handle transactions with Debit/Credit/Gift Cards, EBT, and other payment methods.
8. Take weekly produce tests and ensure all not-on-file items are recorded daily.
9. Properly obtain change and use the intercom correctly.
10. Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms and sweep the front end.
11. Assist with light stocking duties and replace misplaced items.
12. Other duties as assigned.
