This position is available at our 7330 Market St. location in Wilmington, NC.

Part-time hours (no more than 20 hrs per week)

Responsibilities:

The ReStore Cashier ensures that buyers and donors receive professional, timely, and efficient service. The cashier records all point of sale transactions, bags purchases, maintains shelves, and ensures merchandise organization. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, the cashier works with staff to keep the front of the store inviting for all customers.

This job description is not exhaustive; the ReStore Manager may assign additional tasks as necessary.

Duties:

• Represent ReStore professionally when dealing with buyers, donors, volunteers, staff, and the public in person and over the phone.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Answer customer questions and explain store policies and procedures.
• Operate the point of sale register accurately.
• Open, close, and verify cash in the register.
• Complete sales transactions and maintain cash accountability.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change as needed.
• Label goods as sold, carryout, or sale-pending.
• Stock and maintain merchandise safely and adequately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
• Contribute to volunteer program success by fostering a positive atmosphere and encouraging engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Commitment to Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
• Basic cash handling knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• High School diploma or higher.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work Saturdays.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs., stand, squat, bend, walk, and climb regularly.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Meet deadlines as agreed with the manager.
• Pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
