You will efficiently assist customers through the checkout process while ensuring they leave with a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities

1. Engage customers in friendly conversation, making eye contact and smiling
2. Scan grocery items accurately and complete transactions efficiently
3. Properly bag items to ensure they arrive in the condition they left the store
4. Proactively offer assistance or services and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans

Work Environment & Requirements

The physical demands of this role are classified as light to medium. Work includes repetitive hand and arm movements, lifting, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, occasional bending, frequent reaching, moving and lifting, and continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The typical weight of items lifted is 5–12 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 40 pounds. The role involves moderate to high upper extremity repetition, twisting, bending, and pivoting. Exposure to allergens is possible. The work environment is indoors, using tools such as cash registers, scan guns, shopping bags, and carts.

Experience operating a cash register is required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Collective customer service experience, preferably in food service, grocery, or retail settings
