C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID, by Clinton, Allen, and L. Wayne Murphy. The family used their initials “C-A-L” to create their brand. Our first store, located in Idaho Falls, ID, was called C-A-L Ranch & Farm Supply. The store had less than 3,000 square feet, primarily selling tillage tools and hardware. Over 60+ years, C-A-L Ranch Stores has grown from a single store to a regional retailer with multiple locations across Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. While no longer owned by the Murphys, it remains privately held, with current owners maintaining the company's original mission and values.

What You’ll Do:

The cashier role is vital in our organization. As the face of C-A-L Ranch Stores, you will have contact with customers and must represent the company professionally and courteously. Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legendary customer service by greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
• Stay informed about product information, promotions, and advertisements.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store cleanliness.
• Help process and restock merchandise, including receiving and monitoring stock.
• Follow all company policies, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
• Complete sales accurately and efficiently, managing cash and media at POS registers.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer and operate the inventory system.
• Handle transactions such as making change, processing checks, and running credit/debit cards.
• Verify totals, handle refunds, and issue credit memorandums per store policies.
• Operate the cash register correctly, including scanning items and displaying purchase totals.
• Watch safety videos and adhere to safety protocols.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and forward as needed.
• Assist in training new employees and other team members.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, and over 25 pounds with assistance and tools like a hand truck.
• Regular and predictable attendance at the store is required, with work schedules planned weekly.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
