Job summary

Home Depot is seeking a Head Cashier to play a critical customer service role by providing fast, friendly, accurate and safe service at the checkout and returns areas. The Head Cashier will supervise cashiers, assist in training new staff, and expedite price checks and POS transactions across multiple registers including Self-Checkout and Returns.

The role emphasizes supporting Front End Associates and minimizing shrink, with a focus on proactive product knowledge and opportunities for selling.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of cashier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, accurate service at checkout and returns; monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and using available tools to coach and develop others.
• Provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in price checks, POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
