Food Lion is hiring for a Front End Customer Service Associate in Lorton, VA. The role focuses on delivering fast, friendly service and maintaining front end standards to maximize sales.

You will greet customers, operate cash registers, bag items, and assist at the MVP savings center while following company policies and safety procedures. The position requires strong communication, reliability and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willing to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Ability to cashier and operate service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Able to meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt for easier bagging, grouping cold items together.
• Check the bottom of carts and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for bag types.
• Scan orders and handle payments per standard practice.
• Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present.
• Follow procedures for cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, partner cards, food stamps and WIC vouchers.
• Follow refunds and error correction procedures.
• Maintain accurate cash control.
• Follow procedures and perform overrides.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers.
• Check prices quickly and accurately.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge when on duty.
