Job summary

WinCo Foods is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant at our Sumner, WA location. You will provide friendly service at 24/7 retail sites, operate two-aisle check stands, a multi-station self-checkout lane, or customer service desk as assigned, and process transactions with accuracy and courtesy.

The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights/weekends/holidays, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training on PLU codes and company policies will be provided.

Qualifications

• Availability for 24/7 operation including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Friendly, courteous and tactful with customers and co-workers.
• Good communication and basic math skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; 20 lbs frequently.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Willingness to learn PLU codes and store procedures.
• Food safety/handling or TAM card certification where required by law.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, serve and thank customers with enthusiasm.
• Operate cash register, scanner and scale to process orders at the check stand(s).
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Process monetary transactions with accuracy and adherence to policies.
• Maintain knowledge of product location and pricing; ensure correct PLU codes.
