Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) in Tyler, Texas, seeks a front-end associate to provide efficient checkout services, bag groceries, and assist customers with locating items. You’ll maintain accuracy in tender transactions and uphold a clean, safe shopping environment in a busy retail setting.

You'll greet customers, answer questions, promote the Thank You Card program, and follow all company policies while handling tobacco, alcohol, and other restricted items in compliance with local laws.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cash register operation.
• Basic understanding of tender policies and procedures.
• Basic mathematical and counting skills.
• Ability to learn new technology systems and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items.
• Maintain accurate money count in register at all times.
• Greet customers, answer questions, locate and promote products, respond to complaints.
• Promote enrollment in Thank You Card program and assist sign-up where applicable.
• Bag groceries properly, keep items organized, and ensure receipt of all purchases.
• Follow safety procedures and keep the store clean and sanitary.
