Essential Job Functions:
- Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
- Adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages, working honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
- Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
