Key Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, adhering to company policies.
  • Understand and adhere to cash handling limits, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notify management.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
