Cashier – The Garden Restaurant

The Garden Restaurant, located in the lobby of the historic Joseph Smith Memorial Building, is one of Salt Lake City’s most beloved dining destinations. We are looking for friendly and dependable cashiers to provide exceptional guest service, accurately process transactions, and help create a welcoming experience for guests from around the world.

Working In This Position

Part‑time: 10–20 hours/week, 2–4 shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming, professional first impression.
• Accurately process transactions using POS systems, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, pricing, and daily offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of cashier stations, dining areas, and service counters.
• Assist with food and beverage running, stocking, and light prep as needed.
• Handle guest concerns or issues with professionalism and escalated when appropriate.
• Support team members during peak service times to maintain smooth operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Environment / Other Job Requirements

• May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Ability to repetitively bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check, as well as abide by all company policies.
• Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management.

Compensation

$17.00–$18.00/hr. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary is determined by multiple factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
