Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
