Responsibilities

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company, processing each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently while ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. You will handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and provide information and resolution for customer inquiries. Your duties include following all front-end procedures, assisting with stocking shelves, facing, and dusting as needed. Maintaining knowledge of weekly ad items, directing customers to product locations, and staying informed about store events and seminars are also part of your role. You must communicate effectively with the front-end manager and Head Cashier, ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly, and perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Possess an outgoing, friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact well with customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills, capable of taking direction and participating in a team environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry up to 30 lbs. horizontally/vertically, over a distance of 3 feet, for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs. over a distance of 4 feet, for up to 50 hours.
• Strong attention to detail, proficient in cash handling and mathematics, with the ability to read, write, and count.
