Job Description: Cashier at Food City

Responsibilities

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers, including managing check-out procedures and ensuring register sign-off only after relief.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policies, ensuring accuracy and proper crediting.
3. Handle and be accountable for all funds during transactions.
4. Assist with bagging groceries and maintain a neat work station.
5. Follow all legal requirements related to alcohol, WIC, coupons, and tendering procedures.
6. Properly use assigned tills and handle transactions with various payment methods.
7. Perform weekly produce tests and record all non-file items daily.
8. Use intercom correctly and avoid unnecessary conversations while checking out customers.
9. Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
10. Assist with light stocking duties and maintain cleanliness of the front end and bathrooms.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
