Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions and ensuring they feel valued.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support vulnerable customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
