Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and offers according to company policy.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all legal and company guidelines, and work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally, act with honesty and integrity, and follow directions to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
