The cashier/courtesy clerk is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers. They process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system. They handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy. They understand and adhere to limits on cash shortages/overages and follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs). They report pricing discrepancies, follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons, and stay current with ads. They adhere to food safety regulations, reinforce safety programs, and identify unsafe conditions. They create a welcoming environment for customers, answer questions, and comply with all laws and company guidelines. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
