Customer Service Role: Cashier/Checker
  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policy.
  3. Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  4. Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Manage postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  7. Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
  8. Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  9. Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
  10. Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  11. Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  12. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  13. Manage conflicts professionally and with integrity, maintaining confidentiality.
  14. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  15. Support customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  16. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
