Job summary

Mother's Market & Kitchen in Los Angeles is seeking a friendly Cashier to provide fast, accurate checkout experiences and help customers find what they need in a busy store.

You will greet customers, ring up purchases, bag groceries, maintain a clean station, and support the team during shifts. Weekend/evening availability and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience (cashiering is a plus).
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computerized register systems.
• Clear communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Memorize product codes for produce and bulk items.
• Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked throughout your shift.
• Assist with store upkeep when not checking out customers (cleaning, stocking, facing shelves).
• Help customers locate products and answer questions.
• Take and follow up on special orders with department managers.
• Ensure price accuracy and report discrepancies on shelf tags.
• Support overall store safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Lead Cashier.

Hourly Pay: $18.42 – $19.80

What You Will Do

What You Bring

Experience & Skills:

• Previous customer service experience (cashiering is a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
• Frequent use of touchscreen registers and scanners
• Push/pull products across the scanner and handle cash
• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, reach overhead, and climb ladders
• Answer phones and engage with customers face-to-face

Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
