Job summary

Mother's Market & Kitchen is seeking a friendly Cashier to provide fast, accurate checkout experiences and assist customers in finding what they need. You will greet customers, ring up purchases, bag groceries, and help with store upkeep in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Qualified candidates will have prior customer service experience, basic math skills, and comfort with POS systems. Weekend/evening availability is preferred, and in-store benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Ensure price accuracy and report discrepancies on shelf tags.
• Support overall store safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Lead Cashier.

Hourly Pay: $16.90 - $19.80

What You Will Do

• Greet every customer with a warm and welcoming attitude
• Accurately ring up purchases using computerized registers
• Bag groceries with care, keeping customer preferences in mind
• Memorize product codes for produce and bulk items

• Assist with store upkeep when not checking out customers (cleaning, stocking, facing shelves)
• Help customers locate products and answer questions
• Take and follow up on special orders with department managers
• Ensure price accuracy and report discrepancies on shelf tags
• Support overall store safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Lead Cashier

What You Bring

Experience & Skills:

• Previous customer service experience (cashiering is a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
• Frequent use of touchscreen registers and scanners
• Push/pull products across the scanner and handle cash
• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, reach overhead, and climb ladders
• Answer phones and engage with customers face-to-face

Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
