Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Ability to handle stressful situations

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

The cashier/checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers. They process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently, understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy. They must adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss. Cashiers/checkers follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs), report pricing discrepancies, and stay current with ads and promotions. They adhere to food safety regulations, reinforce safety programs, and practice preventive maintenance. They create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products, while complying with all laws, regulations, and company policies. They must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
