What You’ll do

The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring smooth transactions. You will be the first point of contact for customers, responsible for greeting, interacting, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

• Deliver exceptional service through clear communication and active listening.
• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
• Assist customers using the cashier script, promoting programs like the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
• Handle cash management, returns, layaways, and exchanges per company policies.
• Communicate professionally and positively with customers and colleagues.
• Provide product information and respond to customer inquiries, offering recommendations when appropriate.
• Coordinate with loaders and respond promptly to customer requests.
• Execute transactions efficiently, prioritize timely service, and resolve price disputes professionally.
• Stand at the register area to assist customers when not engaged in transactions.
• Promote the Rural King loyalty program and its benefits.
• Introduce customers to the Rural King Visa card and its advantages.
• Answer incoming calls with professional etiquette, identifying the store and yourself.
• Reconcile registers and file paperwork accurately.
• Deactivate EAS devices or spider wraps as needed.
• Maintain awareness to prevent loss and deliver excellent service.
• Perform cashier duties including stocking, cleaning, and managing registers efficiently.
• Replenish popcorn and coffee stations timely.
• Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean and maintained.
• Use office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
• Participate in cross-training and learning initiatives to enhance skills.
• Provide friendly, proactive support to customers and team members.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
