Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the check lane.
  2. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  3. Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to established procedures.
  7. Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  8. Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  9. Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  10. Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products.
  11. Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  12. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  13. Manage conflicts professionally and courteously.
  14. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  15. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  16. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  17. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
