Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
