Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500® company, invites you to join our team in Fort Worth as a cashier. You’ll verify cash drawer balances, process customer payments, and maintain checkout operations in line with policy while delivering friendly service.

You’ll assist with accounts payable entries, answer calls, help customers with Cash Card applications, and support a busy office and retail workflow. Strong multitasking, customer service, and MS Office skills are essential to succeed and grow with our company.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years cashier experience required.
• Strong customer service skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized while prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verifies cash drawer balance at shift start and end.
• Processes customer payments and issues receipts.
• Maintains checkout operations per company policies.
• Enters A/P freight invoices into the system.
• Assists customers with Cash Card applications.
• Answers and routes incoming calls; takes messages as needed.
• Demonstrates dependability and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Verifies cash drawer balance at the beginning and end of shift
• Processes customer payments by ticket received from Scale Operator; pays customers by cash or check for scrap sold
• Maintains checkout operations by following DPS and Metal Recycling Entity policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
• Enters A/P Freight Invoices into database
• Assists customers with Cash Card applications
• Answers incoming calls and answers questions/transfers calls as needed. Takes messages and routes incoming calls to appropriate point of contact
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Minimum 1-2 years cashier experience
• Must have strong customer service skills and a great attitude
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously by effectively prioritizing and organizing assignments
• Ability to use 10-key and utilize a copy machine to scan, copy and fax documents
• Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Ability to sit and stand for duration of shift, up to 8 hours

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
