Job summary

CMC provides opportunities in a dynamic steel and construction reinforcement environment across our recycling centers, fabrication plants and mills. You will gain hands-on training while operating heavy equipment and supporting production teams in a safety-focused setting.

Qualifications

• To succeed, candidates must set up, operate and monitor shop equipment per schedules and instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety regulations.
• Perform data entry at computer workstations.
• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Unload/load trucks or railcars with overhead cranes.

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Perform transactions and data entry at computer workstations

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Ability to efficiently set-up, operate, monitor and adjust shop equipment to ensure a conforming product This can include the furnaces, straighteners, saws and shot blast
• Ability to follow direction provided on schedules, work orders and work instructions
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions given by the crew supervisor
• Ability to perform material handling tasks and hardness tests with the equipment provided
• Ability to perform measurements with tape measures/calipers, etc

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
