Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss control.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all relevant laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts effectively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow instructions and seek help to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist vulnerable populations, including minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
