Job summary

Wegmans in Dickson City, PA is seeking part-time cashiers to ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. You will assist customers at traditional checkouts and self-checkout lanes, scan items, process payments, and bag products while maintaining a clean, organized space.

The role emphasizes proactive service, a friendly manner, and the ability to manage lanes and troubleshoot minor system issues. Morning/afternoon shifts, including weekends, are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Part-time availability mornings and afternoons including weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers in friendly conversation while eye contact and smiles; offer assistance and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
• When on register, scan items accurately and process payments.
• Properly bag items to ensure they arrive in good condition.
• In self-checkout, manage traffic, direct customers to lanes, troubleshoot systems if needed.
• Keep workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked.

In this role, you’ll provide proactive incredible customer service as you assist customers in both traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes. What will I do?

• Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling; proactively offer additional assistance, thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
• When on register, efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
• Properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
• When in self-checkout area, manage traffic flow, direct customers to available lanes, ensure the lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space
