Job Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages and overages, and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to established policies.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
