Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated with current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
