Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with current, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and store services.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and courteously.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
