Responsibilities:

1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
3. Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
6. Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
7. Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
8. Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
9. Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify management.
10. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
11. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
12. Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
13. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
14. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
16. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
17. Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
