Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities:

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
