Cashier

Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by processing sales transactions in an efficient, friendly, and courteous manner. Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Office Manager. Status: Non-exempt.

Knowledge

Essential:

• A valid liquor license must be obtained prior to the first day (if applicable).
• Completion of ongoing training as per the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Non-Essential:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Accurately process payments via cash, check, gift cards, credit/debit cards, coupons, or other methods.
• Follow procedures for government assistance transactions.
• Issue receipts and change accurately.
• Identify products by PLUs, scale, or produce number.
• Operate cash registers, scanners, check verification, and intercom systems.
• Use proper bagging and cashiering techniques to minimize damage and shrinkage.
• Maintain a clean and professional front-end appearance.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Implement and promote the Casentino Customer Service Standards.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Know store items, procedures, and policies to assist customers effectively.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.

Physical Abilities

Essential physical movements include:

• Reaching overhead, twisting, and lifting up to 10 lbs.

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Bending and squatting to floor level.

Non-Essential: Climbing ladders up to 5 ft.
