Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Asset Protection Cash Loss Analyst in Chesapeake, VA to support cash loss management and analyze large data sets to identify trends and opportunities to improve cash loss reporting and P&L accuracy.

The role involves investigative research, reconciliation, and producing cash loss reports, plus delivering insights to leadership and collaborating across Asset Protection, Treasury, and Store Operations to strengthen financial integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, or related field.
• Two to three years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, reconciliation, reporting, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities.
• Experience using business intelligence, database query, financial reporting, or data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and consolidate data from multiple internal systems to validate cash and deposit activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Gather, consolidate, and analyze large data sets to identify trends and opportunities to improve cash loss reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Support monthly cash loss P&L reporting by reviewing financial results and preparing explanations of variances across cash loss lines.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Asset Protection, Treasury, Store Operations, and other partners to drive issue resolution.
• Develop and refine analytical tools and reporting solutions to improve visibility into outstanding items and assist with prioritization.
