Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Cash Applications Representative to manage daily entry, reconciliation, and posting of electronic remits between the lockbox, bank, and general ledger. The role ensures accurate posting of ERAs and cash against patient accounts within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Maintaining quality control, adhering to HIPAA and PCI requirements, and collaborating with the Treasury, SBO, and AR teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of related experience in patient accounting or cash management in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Experience with electronic remittance processing preferred.
• Experience with bookkeeping or accounting preferred.
• Experience with an electronic health record system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Treasury Management and Financial Accounting to ensure accurate daily reflection of debits and credits.
• Resolve cash application discrepancies with SBO and AR representatives as needed.
• Assist with knowledge sharing, training, and support to team members as advised by management.
• Monitor lockbox correspondence and ensure HIPAA/PCI compliance in daily tasks.
• Research and resolve unmatched cash transactions and process refunds when appropriate.
