The role collaborates with accounts receivable and billing to verify payment data and resolve issues.

The position requires at least 2 years in cash applications or related finance roles, proficiency with accounting software and Excel, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Experience in transportation and warehousing industry or logistics environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms (preferred).
• Knowledge of electronic payment processing and banking procedures (preferred).
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex payment discrepancies independently (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Process and apply incoming payments from various sources to customer accounts accurately and promptly.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts and resolve discrepancies between payments and invoices billed.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to clarify payment details and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of all cash application activities to support audit and financial reporting.
• Assist in month-end closing activities by providing accurate cash application data and supporting documentation.

The Cash Application Specialist plays a critical role in the financial operations of a transportation and warehousing company by ensuring accurate and timely application of incoming payments to customer accounts. This position is responsible for reconciling payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining detailed records to support the company’s cash flow and financial reporting.

The specialist will collaborate closely with the accounts receivable and billing teams to verify payment information and address any issues that may arise.
