Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Cash Application to lead end-to-end cash application operations and manage a skilled team. You will ensure accurate payment application, drive process improvements, and partner with Finance, Sales, and Information Services to optimize working capital.

The role emphasizes automation, standardization, and executive reporting of KPIs and cash trends, with a strong focus on control environments and continuous improvement across the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.
• 7+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable or Cash Application experience, including payment reconciliation and banking transactions.
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
• Solid understanding of lockbox, ACH, wire, and other electronic payment processes, internal controls, and core accounting principles.
• Experience using ERP systems and cash application automation technology, preferably HighRadius.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end cash application operations, ensuring customer payments are applied accurately, timely, and in accordance with established controls and procedures.
• Lead a team of cash application specialists, setting priorities, managing workload, and driving accountability for performance and service-level expectations.
• Drive the reduction of unapplied cash through proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, and targeted resolution plans.
• Manage month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and related reporting requirements.
• Develop, coach, and retain talent while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Develop and deliver executive reporting and operational analytics that provide visibility into KPIs, cash trends, process effectiveness, and team performance.
• Initiate continuous improvement efforts focused on automation, standardization, and efficiency across the cash application function.
