NYC Department of Social Services seeks two Associate Benefits Opportunity Specialist II to supervise BOS staff and oversee eligibility determinations, financial planning, and economic opportunity services within FIA. You will ensure timely processing, manage teams, and coordinate with the Benefits Access Center, Rental Assistance Unit, and related services to promote self-sufficiency.

• Four-year high school diploma and three years of full-time experience in social/human services or related field.
• Bachelor's degree plus 18 months of relevant experience as Benefits Opportunity Specialist or similar.
• College credits substituting for experience allowed with 60 credits for 9 months experience, with 18 months required overall.

Mansioni

• Monitor workflow of BOS workers handling applications and case management.
• Review cases and authorize benefits as required.
• Review reports and work lists for accuracy and timeliness.
• Act as liaison to the Rental Assistance Unit.
• Conduct daily sweeps for timely service and assist clients with eligibility for immediate needs.
• Manage BOS teams delivering services for food, employment, and public assistance needs.
• Oversee housing needs assessments for tenants at risk of homelessness.
• Prepare regular unit activity reports and oversight of performance.
