EAC Network is hiring a full-time Bilingual Case Aide to support Nassau County residents through HEAP and WRAP programs. The role interviews clients, assesses eligibility, processes applications, and maintains records with proficiency in MS Office.

Strong communication and organizational skills, along with Spanish bilingual ability, are essential. The position is based at 175 Fulton Ave, Hempstead, NY 11550, offers a 8:45 AM - 4:45 PM schedule, and pays $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or educational equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience with lowincome households.
• Excellent interviewing, communication and organizational skills required.
• Must be detail-oriented and proficient with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess eligibility for HEAP/WRAP assistance.
• Process client applications and complete required forms with data entry.
• Interact with other agencies and heating/utility companies.
• Prepare and maintain records and departmental paperwork.
• Demonstrate knowledge of computer programs used in duties (Outlook, Word, etc.).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision and administration.

What drives the core purpose of this job:

The Bilingual Case Aide is responsible for interviewing clients, assessing eligibility and processing applications for Nassau County residents seeking financial assistance with their energy costs through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and WRAP (Weatherization).

What are the key responsibilities:

• Interview and assess the eligibility of prospective clients seeking financial assistance with their energy costs.
• Process client applications, complete required forms, and perform data entry in accordance with the guidelines established by the Nassau County Department of Social Services.
• Interact with other agencies and heating and utility companies.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate records and departmental paperwork
• Demonstrates knowledge of computer programs necessary to perform job responsibilities (i.e. Outlook, Microsoft Word, etc.).
• Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NetworkAdministration.

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

• High School Diploma or educational equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with low-income households.
• Excellent interviewing, communication and organizational skills required.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
• Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Required.
