University of Vermont is seeking a CAS HR/Fac Actions Specialist to coordinate faculty actions, support RPT processes, and manage sabbatical leaves. You will help with curriculum planning and recruitment while ensuring compliance with university policies and collective bargaining agreements.
The role requires attention to detail and strong communication to coordinate among departments, CAS leadership, and campus partners. This is a full-time, on-site position in Burlington, VT.
The CAS HR/Fac Actions Specialist will coordinate and support specialized human resources and administrative functions for academic departments within the College of Arts and Sciences, College Administrative Services (CAS – CAS). Provide administrative and procedural support for faculty actions, including reappointment, promotion and tenure (RPT), and sabbatical leave; support Schedule of Courses planning and development; and assist with faculty and staff recruitment, hiring, and other personnel activities. Interpret and communicate university policies, procedures, and applicable collective bargaining agreements, providing guidance to faculty, department administrators, and academic leaders while collaborating with campus partners to ensure the accurate and timely processing of actions. As part of a collaborative team supporting a cooperative model, serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries, facilitate clear and consistent communication, coordinate workflows, maintain records, and assist in resolving procedural issues. Monitor processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure compliance with department, college, university, and collective bargaining agreement requirements.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field and two to four years of related experience in an administrative setting required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, (especially Excel, Word), and database applications required, and familiarity with internet resources required. Effective analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication, interpersonal, team-collaboration, and writing skills required. Attention to detail and accuracy required. Demonstrated experience and commitment to overall customer service and ability to discern and maintain confidential information required.
Experience using human resource and enrollment/student management systems, such as PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, and Banner highly desirable.
$27.50 - $28.97/hour
