IKEA Bolingbrook is looking for a Retail Carts Co-worker to help provide an enjoyable shopping experience. You will load and unload carts, stock tools, and assist customers with a friendly, efficient approach. This permanent full-time hourly role requires evening/weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload shopping carts for customers, keeping the area tidy.
• Keep carts, bags, maps, and other tools stocked and ready.
• Monitor tools and report any safety or IT issues.
• Assist customers and resolve issues, escalating when needed.
• Support exchanges, returns, and Click & Collect as required.
• Assist with handouts during Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO).
• Ensure accurate order handoffs for Click & Collect.
• Promote a welcoming IKEA culture and inclusive environment.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
• Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, escalation matters to a manager when needed.
• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.
• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

JOB TYPE - Permanent, Full-Time, Hourly Associate, 18+

HOURS - From 34-40 hours per week (HL3) // Benefits Eligible

SHIFTS -This role is in a retail environment, so evening and weekend availability will be required to support store operations and our customers.

This position is based at our Bolingbrook location through approximately October 2027, when the store is expected to relocate to Naperville. Please note that the timing of this transition may change based on business needs and project timelines. As part of the transition, this position at the Bolingbrook location is expected to end. Co-workers interested in continuing their career with IKEA will need to apply for available opportunities at the new Naperville location or other IKEA locations.

• Working Conditions: Outdoor 50% of the time.

The starting rate/ salary for this position is 17.5 USD
