Job summary

The IKEA Bolingbrook store is hiring a Retail Carts Co-worker to help create an enjoyable shopping experience. You will load and unload carts, keep the loading zone tidy, and assist customers with their needs in a fast, friendly way.

You'll stock tools like carts, bags, maps, and twine, monitor conditions, report issues, and support areas such as Exchanges, Returns, and Click & Collect. The role requires evening/weekend availability and a permanent, full-time schedule in a retail environment.

• Working Conditions: Outdoor 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading/unloading while keeping the loading zone clean.
• Stock and maintain shopping tools (carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, twine) during store hours.
• Ensure tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of tools; report IT issues; remove unsafe stands.
• Assist in other customer service areas as needed (FSHO, Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect).
• In FSHO, provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• In Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• In Click & Collect, ensure accurate order handoff and a positive experience.
• Support IKEA culture and embrace diversity of co-workers and customers.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
• Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, escal ...? Wait
• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.

JOB TYPE - Permanent, Full-Time, Hourly Associate, 18+HOURS - From 34-40 hours per week (HL3) // Benefits EligibleSHIFTS -This role is in a retail environment, so evening and weekend availability will be required to support store operations and our customers.

This position is based at our Bolingbrook location through approximately October 2027, when the store is expected to relocate to Naperville. Please note that the timing of this transition may change based on business needs and project timelines. As part of the transition, this position at the Bolingbrook location is expected to end. Co-workers interested in continuing their career with IKEA will need to apply for available opportunities at the new Naperville location or other IKEA locations.
