IKEA Bolingbrook is hiring a Retail Carts Co-worker to help create an enjoyable shopping experience. The role involves loading/unloading carts, stocking and maintaining shopping tools, and assisting in returns, exchanges, and Click & Collect as needed.

The position is permanent, part-time, hourly, 18+ hours per week, with Friday-Sunday-Monday availability required. The Bolingbrook store will relocate to Naperville around October 2027, with potential opportunities at the new location.

What you’ll be doing day to day

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
• Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, escape matters to a manager when needed.
• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.
• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

JOB TYPE – Permanent, Part-time, Hourly Associate, 18+HOURS – From 12 to 19 hours per week (HL1) // Limited Benefits SHIFTS– Seeking work schedule availability of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday as a minimum requirement. Work schedules are published one month in advance.This position is based at our Bolingbrook location through approximately October 2027, when the store is expected to relocate to Naperville. Please note that the timing of this transition may change based on business needs and project timelines. As part of the transition, this position at the Bolingbrook location is expected to end. Co-workers interested in continuing their career with IKEA will need to apply for available opportunities at the new Naperville location or other IKEA locations.
