PBC Linear Bearings in the United States, Illinois, Roscoe Township, seeks a Mechatronics Controls Engineer for Cartesian robotics. You will review requirements, select actuators with profile rail and ball screws, size a servo and drive with load calculations, and implement safety, sensors, and controls in panel wiring.

You’ll tune axes with IEC 61131-3 PLCs, troubleshoot, and coordinate with vendors, customers, and sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with servo/stepper motors, PLCs, and drive systems.
• Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own design, component selection, and troubleshooting of linear motion systems.
• Analyze loads to size motors and drives.
• Program PLC systems and integrate drives and field devices.
• Install and wire control panels; read electrical schematics.
• Collaborate with vendors, customers, and engineering teams.
