Job summary

QED in Rochester, NY seeks an Electrical Engineer to coordinate electrical and controls engineering with external suppliers for CNC platforms used in test equipment and facilities.

You will design, build, and debug electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems, create interface specifications, and write PLC code to implement new functionality. The role requires collaboration across engineering teams and occasional travel to supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 1+ years related engineering or machine controls experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals.
• Ability to read and write PLC and CNC code.
• Adept with oscilloscopes, DVMs, and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical and controls development with outside suppliers for CNC platforms.
• Create control diagrams and interface specifications for PLC/NC/IPC systems.
• Develop PLC code to enable new functionality and fixes.
• Plan and oversee test execution, data collection, and reporting.
• Lead cross-functional projects with budgets and schedules.
