Job summary

CJ Logistics America is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to build and maintain carrier relationships, negotiate rates, and ensure efficient movement of freight. You will work closely with operations to secure capacity across FTL and LTL while upholding service levels.

The role requires 1–3 years in logistics, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with TMS and MS Office. This hybrid Des Plaines position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or logistics.
• Familiar with FTL, LTL and intermodal transport.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure reliable carriers for freight across lanes and modes (FTL, LTL, etc.).
• Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships to ensure capacity and service levels.
• Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while preserving profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate shipments with operations to ensure timely pickup, transit, and delivery.
• Address and resolve delays, damages, and other shipment issues as they arise.
• Monitor market trends and capacity shifts to stay competitive in negotiations.
• Ensure carrier compliance with safety, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain carrier profiles, rates, and activity in CRM or TMS systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
