Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of experience selling freight as a carrier sales professional with prior people-management experience.
• Extensive carrier portfolio development and management experience.
• Strong understanding of pricing strategy and bid package process.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Carrier Sales Representatives, from ramping new hires to building senior reps into future leaders.
• Own hiring, onboarding, and performance management for your team, including regular one-on-ones and monthly performance reviews.
• Set the tone for the team: urgency, accountability, and ownership over the freight in your region.
• Build and strengthen carrier relationships to improve pricing consistency, service reliability, and coverage speed.
• Direct carrier development priorities, including high-volume lanes, problem lanes, niche markets, and new carrier onboarding.
• Monitor market and capacity trends and adjust regional strategy as conditions shift.
• Work with customer sales to prioritize the load board and align on pricing strategy for current and prospective accounts.
• Consult on spot market opportunities and support the development of regional pricing.
• Use available technology and data to spot coverage risk earlier and keep your team focused on the relationships that move freight.
• Facilitate team meetings where appropriate
