Job summary

McLane Global seeks a Carrier Supervisor/Manager to source, negotiate, and manage transportation carriers (truckload, LTL, intermodal, temperature control, etc.) to ensure competitive pricing, reliable capacity, and high service levels. You will lead performance management, establish KPIs, and build direct partnerships with asset-based carriers.

The role oversees onboarding, rate strategy, and compliance across the carrier network, requiring a Bachelor’s in Business, Logistics, or related field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–6+ years of experience in carrier sales, carrier management, or freight brokerage.
• Experience in managed transportation with contracted carrier relationships and rate schedules.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of TMS platforms and freight market/rate dynamics.
• Competitive base compensation plus performance bonus opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Set goals and monitor KPIs for carrier network growth, lane coverage, margin, and on-time performance.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with each carrier to evaluate performance and service trends.
• Resolve escalated carrier or service issues.
• Source, qualify, and onboard new asset-based carriers to reduce reliance on the brokered network.
• Negotiate and establish base rates, fuel surcharges, and accessorial schedules by lane.
• Build long‑term, direct carrier partnerships to improve service and cost control.
• Ensure onboarded carriers are load‑ready across required systems (TMS, rate tables, compliance tracking).
• Monitor ongoing carrier compliance (insurance, safety ratings, authority, CSA scores).
• Collaborate with sales and operations to align lane rates with customer commitments.
• Track freight market trends and adjust rate strategy to protect margin.
