Job summary

Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility in Butner, NC, seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III to manage building upkeep across 600,000 sq ft, including carpentry, door/lock work, cabinetry, and tile. Position requires good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry and compliance with weather-mandatory duties.

Recruitment range is $41,206 to $72,113. A valid driver’s license and locksmith experience are preferred. Training and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of progressive experience in carpentry/related trades.
• Two years of carpentry experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• One year locksmith experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• EPA Type I/II/III or Universal technician certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance, renovation, and repair across 600,000 sq ft of facilities.
• Complete door adjustments, lock repair/installation, cabinetry, and furniture repairs.
• Pouring and finishing concrete, masonry, tile work, roofing, and fabrication of adaptive items.
• Follow safety and work-order directions; inspections by supervisor for quality and compliance.
